The dress was perfect! Demure enough to satisfy her Uncles Bob, Ian and Simon but they didn't know what hid beneath the turtleneck of the full skirted dress, did they!

She had quietly made her way to the seamier side of town and with a head full of defiance had chosen her tattoo. She'd thought about it and thought about it and decided on one of the more traditional tattoos, a pair of sparrows.

Of course the meaning went a lot deeper for her as her boyfriend was a sailor. She'd discovered that sparrows were common tattoos for sailors. Sparrows were always able to find their way to landfall. What really decided her on the pair of sparrows was that sparrows symbolize love, dedication and trust. Sparrows mate for life and will always return home no matter how far they travel.

So with a full head of steam she and her lover had their sparrows tattooed, a pair for each of them, forever to be linked, refusing to be torn apart even though he was to be shipped out to parts unknown.
